Sperry Hunt is the author of Songwriting: How To Write Music and Lyrics.
He has written seven screenplays including Stealing Apollo, Hello In There
and Semiprecious. Two have been optioned.
Mr. Hunt graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in biology
and psychology. In 2005 he completed a two-year program at the University of Washington
for which he was awarded an Advanced Certificate for Literary Fiction. His short
story "The Rain on the Banana Leaves" won the 2005 Marcia Barton Award for Literary
Fiction.
Subsequently he wrote The Inventors' Daughter, the first in a series of novels
by that name written for middle grade readers ages 9-12. He is currently writing
the second book with the working title The Timearang Pirates.
He lives in Seattle with his wife who is herself an artist. Their son resides on
the Washington coast with his wife, an elementary school teacher, and their much
adored daughter Erin who is the inspiration for the series.
